Q. What will I learn?
A. You will:

  • develop an appreciation of how long it took man to understand where electricity came from and how it is used.
  • understand the mathematical relationship between voltage, current and resistance and explain how Ohm’s Law is still important to this date at any technical level.
  • be able to distinguish between AC and DC voltage sources. Also, you will understand the requirements of a simple circuit and how AC and DC sources can power that circuit.
  • understand complex (parallel & series/parallel) circuits and how they are used in various applications. Also, you will learn magnetism and how its effect is used in circuits that require magnetic operations.
  • understand how alternating current is generated and know the common waveform used to represent alternating current. Also, you will learn how and why transformers and capacitors are needed in electrical circuits.
  • understand how a motor turns electrical energy into mechanical energy. Also, you will be able to name the parts of an AC motor and explain how the AC motor operates.
  • understand the differences and uses of control and protection devices used in electrical circuits.
  • understand the differences and uses of connectivity devices used in electrical circuits. Also, you will learn how to use wiring diagrams.
  • Learn preventative steps that may avoid dangerous conditions at a work site or location. You will also learn what to do after unexpected events have occurred.

Q. How much does the course cost?
A. US$ 499.00

Q. What will I receive?
A. Students will receive 6 month access to the online training course, a text book, a meter, a lab kit, and a tool kit.

Q. What payment options do I have?
A. Cash, Credit Card via PayPal, or Checks.

Q. Do I get a diploma or certificate?
A. Upon satisfactory completion of the course you will receive a
certificate.

Q. How long will it take me to complete the course?
A. You work at you own pace. There is a six-month time limit for
your username and password. If you need additional time to
complete the course, just e-mail us and let us know. You could
complete the course in as little as 30 days.

Q. Can I get extra help?
A. Extra help is available by e-mail and phone calls to your coach.
E-mails can be sent to your coach at anytime. Email Answers
will take approximately 24 hours, except with questions coming
in on Friday. Answers for the questions on Friday will be given
out on Monday. Phone call in questions will be from 8AM to 1
PM Monday thru Thursday. Responses will be returned within
24 hours.

Q. Is there a “Hot Line” if I have a question?
A. There is the 24 hour call back option for questions.

Q. When do classes start?
A. Anytime, at your convenience.

Q. How many people will be in my class?
A. You will not be attending any classes with other students, as all
work will be done individually, online.

Q. Do I have to go anywhere for classes?
A. Just to your computer

Q. What do I need to know to do this program?
A. You must have an understanding of basic math, have good
computer skills, and be able to read and & understand the English language.

Q. Will I need a password?
A. Yes. A user name and password will be given to you after registration.

Q. How long will my password be good for?
A. Until completion of the course or six months, whichever comes first. Additional time may be arranged if needed.

Q. When can I start?
A. Once registration is complete and payment arrangements have
been finalized, you will be given your password information and may start at anytime after that

Q. What if I fail the final exam?
A. There are no final exams, just quizzes.

Q. Who should take this program?
A. Anyone with an interest in a getting a better understanding of how electricity works.

Q. Why should I take this program?
A. This program is designed to give the student an understanding
of electricity to aid in their job performance. It will also benefit
home users with solving general electricity questions and
problems.

Q. Will I be able to get an Electrician’s License if I take this course?
A. No. This is not a licensing course, and is designed only to provide the student with a rudimentary understanding of basic electricity.
